Betty led her first meditation session for the KS1 children this lunchtime. We had a full classroom and the children were so calm and still. What a lovely session! We hope we will see as many next time...
5.11.24
This lunchtime, Betty and Fariah led the first of their meditation sessions. The girls have planned these sessions for KS1 on Thursdays and KS2 on Tuesdays and they are open to any children who would like to have 5-10 minutes of peace, quiet and relaxation during lunchtimes.
24.10.24
This lunch time, we collected all of the food donations and loaded them into Mrs Angstmann's car. She will then take them to the place that she volunteers in Leeds Centre.
21.10.24
At lunchtime today, we had a look at all the food that was donated after our Harvest Liturgy appeal. We thank everyone who donated so generously to Leeds Street Aid. It will help to feed hundreds of people living on our streets.
4.10.24
This afternoon, we led our first whole school worship in which we had our Harvest liturgy. We planned it, practised it and then delivered our message to everyone. We are asking for donations to help feed the homeless at Leeds Street Aid where Mrs Angstmann volunteers every week.

This afternoon, three of our members had a special meeting with Greg Phinn. He trained us to be teachers and to teach our peers in class how to plan and lead class Collective Worships even better than we already do. We really enjoyed the worship that he did with us and we learnt lots. We will feedback to our other Chaplaincy team members at our next meeting and decide upon a date when we can lead Wednesday Word Worship for the whole school to show them what we learnt.

With it being a new month, we have a new virtue focus of thankfulness. Fariah delivered the posters to each class to display on their altars.
25.9.24
At lunchtime today, we gathered our team together.
We began by saying our prayer and then created our new Chaplaincy Team logo. Each of us suggested a word associated with our team and the work we do to add to our WordArt cross. We are proud to show everyone our new LOGO....!!!
Next, we collected our ideas for our donation letter and for our harvest liturgy worship. Look at the photos below to see the work we did at home.
18.9.24
We met at lunchtime today to discuss our plans for the upcoming Harvest Liturgy and food donations. We have decided that Gusta, Harrison and Mikolaj will create our letter to request food donations and Betty, Fariah, Martyna, Millie and Oscar will create our slides for our Liturgy. We will meet next week to discuss our work so far.
We also took our first Chaplaincy team photographs of us all together!
13.9.24
During celebration/worship assembly this afternoon, our new members were announced. Welcome: Martyna (Year 5) and Oscar, Mikolaj and Millie (Year 4). Here they are being presented with their certificates and badges by Mr Strong. Look how happy and proud they are!

We held our first meeting of this academic year at lunchtime today and what an interesting meeting it was! We began with our chaplaincy prayer and then got down to the exciting business of appointing our new members! We read through their applications and all agreed on the 3 new members who possess great qualities to join our team. They will be announced in Friday Celebration Worship Assembly on Friday where they will received their certificates and more importantly their cross badges which were blessed by Fr Neil. Then everyone will be able to identify them as part of our fantastic Chaplaincy Team!

Welcome
We meet on a weekly basis to discuss how we can develop our prayerful areas and prayer in school; support our school community by ensuring our places of worship are neat and tidy and deliver prayer sessions, whole school and class worship.
Holy Family School is a special place where our faith can grow and we believe we can help everyone by giving them the opportunity to experience God and His word during our prayer groups.
Our Meeting Prayer
Heavenly Father, we come to you
today asking for your guidance, wisdom,
and support as we begin this meeting.
Help us to engage in meaningful discussion;
allow us to grow closer as a group
and nurture the bonds of community.
Amen.
The Chaplains have been working hard during our lunch times keeping our prayer spaces tidy and keeping our altars around school up to date. Mr Biedka has given the Chaplains the responsibility to run our prayer groups. They have also helped children plan their Collective Worships.
Father Neil came especially into school to bless our special badges. We are so proud of them and thank Father Neil for doing this special thing for us.
Our Chaplaincy Team have been working hard and have led worship in our Prayer Garden during lunch for KS1 and KS2 children.
We have been leading meditation groups this half term and lots of the children have really enjoyed attending.
